H. Beecher Hicks, Jr. to Teach at United This Fall

The Rev. Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr., senior minister of the 6,000 member Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., will teach a special course recently added to our fall offerings. The course, Preaching Through Social Crisis, will be taught on September 3-5, 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00-2:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday; 9:00 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Dr. Hicks is one of the most highly respected pastors working today. In 1993, Ebony Magazine honored him as one of America’s “Fifteen Greatest African American Preachers.” He is sought after as a speaker by institutions all over the country. Registration and Fees

Current Students

Students enrolled in a degree program at United may receive one hour of academic credit for this course. The course number is PW 105. The cost is $443 for academic credit or $50 for auditing with no academic credit.

To enroll in the course, please file a course change record with Martha Anderson, Registrar.

Continuing Education

We will also offer continuing education units for those who wish to receive them and who fulfill the requirements. The cost is $45 for people who wish to receive CEUs, and $35 for those who wish to attend without seeking CEUs.
