    Coordinator of the Center for Hispanic Ministry and Hispanic Christian Academy

     

    Applications are currently being accepted in the Human Resource Office for those interested in the part-time Coordinator of the Center for Hispanic Ministry and Hispanic Christian Academy position at United Theological Seminary.  Deadline for application is Friday, April 26, 2013.

    Summary

    The Coordinator of the Center for Hispanic Ministry and Hispanic Christian Academy (CHM/HCA) assists the Director of Non-Degree Programs in administration, organization and implementation of the CHM/HCA and will serve as the primary program staff person.

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

    • Set up and maintain student files.
    • Process student registrations and payments.
    • Generate student and conference invoices.
    • Generate transcripts and distribute as appropriate.
    • Recruit Instructors and provide with materials needed to develop/deliver courses.
    • Generate Instructor Agreements and Requests for Payment.
    • Monitor CHM/HCA e-mail Inbox and voicemail regularly and provide timely responses to telephone and electronic requests for information.
    • Help to coordinate with appropriate staff members the marketing and publicity for upcoming courses (recruiting/enrollment).
    • Assist the Director in managing finances and budget for CHM/HCA and generate quarterly reports.
    • Attend meetings including: United staff; SDR staff and Non-Degree Programming Committee.
    • Ensure webpage is kept up to date.  Modify/update as needed.
    • Continue to find ways to streamline/automate/improve registration, recruitment, and enrollment processes.

    Education and/or Experience 

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; preference will be given to persons with at least some college education.

    • Use of latest Microsoft® Office software for word processing and spreadsheets in a Microsoft® Office network.
    • Use of Google Plus for email
    • Basic proficiency in: composing emails, spell check, use of email Global Address List (GAL), create/use email folders, mange email contacts, manage email calendar, make/update email appointments, compose documents, print, mail merge, use headers/footers, insert graphic image, basic outlining, insert simple grid or graph, manage versioning, organize/manage digital file folders, set up spreadsheet, and basic arithmetic with rows and columns.

     


    Professor in the History of Christianity

    United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio, seeks an Associate or Full Professor in the History of Christianity. The specific area of specialization is open, though competence in some period from the Reformation onward is preferable. Ordination in The United Methodist Church or other Wesleyan bodies is highly desirable. Commitments to the historic Christian faith and training women and men for pastoral leadership are essential.
