    Dr. J. Allan Ranck Friendship Press Collection

    allanranckIn 1992, United Theological Seminary was chosen by Friendship Press to be the depository for the J. Allan Ranck Collection.

    This Special Collection consists of more than 1,100 books, pamphlets, audio-visual resources, and other items issued by the Press and its predecessors since 1902.  Friendship Press, a subsidiary of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA, is widely known for its publications on missions, stewardship, Christian Education, ecumenics and social concerns.

    Dr. Ranck was a 1937 graduate of Bonebrake Theological Seminary (United Theological Seminary).  An Evangelical United Brethren and United Methodist minister, he served on the staff of the National Council of Churches from 1946 to 1979.  Dr. Ranck was also a lecturer at Yale Divinity School 1955 – 67.
