UTSweb is a Windows SharePoint site that provides staff, faculty and students with a method for organizing information, managing documents and communicating with others. SharePoint consists of main sites and sub sites that require user authentication for security purposes.
Below is a list of tools and features available for use on a SharePoint site:
Events and Announcements: With expiration dates that automatically removes the information when it is no longer applicable
Links: List links to useful resources on the Web
Document Library and Picture Library: Store documents or pictures and graphics on SharePoint so you can access them from any location with a Web browser.
Document Check out/ Check in: When collaborating on documents, only one team member at a time can take ownership of a document for review and editing.
Document Versioning: Allows you to keep multiple versions of a document. If a change needs to be reversed, you can restore the previous version and continue working.
Discussion Boards: Provides a forum for discussion of team topics.
Survey: Create a survey or take a poll of team member opinions and Windows SharePoint Services will collect the data and compile it into a user-friendly report
