Dr. Charles E. Gutenson
During this course of study, this DMin cohort will examine socio-cultural trends of the last 50 years in order to be able to establish a firm foundation for understanding the dynamics of socio-cultural change. From there, the group will explore the contemporary ministry context, with particular attention to the major trends of socio-cultural change that are currently unfolding. The group will pay particular attention to the implications these trends carry for ministry so that we can proactively plan for them. Finally, the group will pay particular attention to matters relating to communicating the Gospel effectively in different socio-cultural settings—how do we frame the message? How is it focused? What are the primary metaphors that connect with the Biblical narratives? How do we help contemporary persons connect their own stories with the biblical stories?
