Dr. Mary Beckmann holds master’s and doctoral degrees in teaching and learning with concentrations in distance learning and computer technology. Her dissertation, completed in 2008, is entitled, “Mobile Learning as a Model of Teacher Education.” She is proficient in both a variety of computer-based technologies and diverse teaching-learning environments.

She currently teaches educational technology at the graduate level at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, St. Louis, MO, where she is program director for the Catholic Distance Learning Network and teaches the certification course for seminary professors.  She is  also employed with Archdiocese of St. Louis in elementary and secondary school web course design, technology integration, curriculum development, and technology teaching.

She often speaks at distance learning conferences including, “Strengthening Research and Writing Skills Through Student Authorship of Wiki Textbooks,” at Hawaii Conference, co-author and presenter via audio conference; “Learning Styles and Concepts of Learning: How the way we learn may affect how we teach,” and “Electronic Print, Multimedia, and Mobile Learning” at the Kenrick-Glennon CDLN Online Workshop.
