Dr. Sebastian Mahfood

Dr. Sebastian Mahfood, OP, is Associate Professor of Intercultural Studies and Coordinator of Instructional Technology at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, St Louis, MO, chairs the Association of Theological Schools Technology in Theological Education Group, and is coordinator of the Catholic Distance Learning Network. He is an Adjunct Professor at Webster University in St. Louis, where he has developed online graduate-level courses in cyberethics, adult learning, and online course instruction and design.

Dr. Mahfood is the author of Radical Eschatologies, a book concerning the use by African Marxists of Abrahamic eschatology in pursuit of their social vision. He has written such articles as “Love and Responsibility: The Personalization Principle in Cyberspace” (Seminary Journal. Vol. 14, No. 3 Winter 2008, 72-76), which expands the personalization principle of John Paul II into cyberspace, and also, with Sergius Halvorsen and Mary Beckmann, “Online Teaching and Learning: On the Road to Developing Distance Learning Standards for Communities of Learners” (Seminary Journal. Vol. 15, No. 1 Spring 2009: 64-72), which seeks to develop some guidelines for the way faculty are asked to respond to students within their online classes.

Dr. Mahfood lives in St. Louis with his wife, Dr. Stephanie Mahfood, and children, Alexander and Eva Ruth.
