Dr. Harold Hudson Installed on Aug. 19th

Dayton’s First United Methodist Church hosted the installation service for Dr. Harold A. Hudson as United’s Associate Dean of Doctoral Studies on August 19. The service was held during the Doctor of Ministry Intensive week, and many D.Min. students and United faculty were among those celebrating the installation. Greetings and welcome were brought by the Mayor of Dayton, the Honorable Gary Leitzell; Dr. Wendy Deichmann Edwards, United’s President; Dr. Richard Eslinger, United’s Academic Dean; and Dr. Charles Booth, Pastor of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Columbus, OH.

Dr. Frank A. Thomas Senior Pastor of Mississippi Blvd. Christian Church, Memphis, brought a rousing message entitled, “Renew Your Yes.” Dr. Thomas, a 1991 D.Min alumnus, is nationally and internationally respected for his preaching and teaching ministry.

Bishop Violet Fisher, retired Bishop of the United Methodist Church, led the ceremony of the laying on of hands and invoking the Holy Spirit’s blessing on Dr Hudson. Tabernacle Baptist Church Choir, of Dayton, provided uplifting and spirit-filled numbers under the leadership of Mrs. Euna Thompson.

Dr. Hudson also serves as Senior Pastor of Calvary Tremont Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus. He is married to Billie Sue Hudson, and is a father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather, and is pleased that a portion of each family was in attendance.
