Cokesbury bookstores are the retail arm of the United Methodist Publishing House. In business on behalf of the church for over 200 years, the Publishing House produces a wide variety of materials for all aspects of church life and focuses its vision on helping pastors, seminarians and other church leaders find resources to enhance and enrich their ministries.

While Cokesbury stores do work to make a profit, the extra money is not turned back into the company or used to pay shareholders or a board of directors. Each year after subtracting operating expenses, Cokesbury returns millions of dollars to the Annual Conferences of The United Methodist Church to support clergy pension and retirement funds.
