Christian Formation: A Lifelong Journey
Dr. Jacqueline Nowak
Discovering and reclaiming the ways in which ministries of affirmation and blessing lead to transformation of individuals and institutions, and the empowerment of all ages, as agents of the kingdom of God.
This Doctor of Ministry group will engage in cooperative learning, experiencing the basic model of Blessing Based Spiritual Nurture (BBSN) and being challenged to explore its potential in a variety of ministry contexts. In its sharing, the group will cultivate their own spirituality in Sabbath quality relationships and patterns and will work collegially through extensive use of VirtualUnited. Under Dr Nowak’s mentorship, with consultant Dr Donald Rogers, Emeritus Colonel Cowden Professor of Christian Education at United, students will develop focused foundational statements from Biblical, theological, liturgical, educational and experiential resources. In the research aspect of this work, cohort members will identify particular applications for their ministries; each will identify a personally, professionally and contextually significant AOM (Act of Ministry), which will be carefully framed, conducted, measured and prepared for publication.
